Digital and Media Literacy Class at ECU

20 May

This class is getting off to a fast start and well it should with only about five weeks! The course is the last I need to obtain additional certification as an instructional technology facilitator/coordinator/specialist. All of the courses I have taken through East Carolina University have been excellent.

This coursework is a wonderful complement to my experience as a media specialist/teacher librarian, and the MLS. The two are certainly intertwined and NC Department of Public Instruction’s wonderful IMPACT: Guidelines for North Carolina Media and Technology Programsrepresents an ideal guide to how these two programs and roles within a school should operate.

IMPACT: cover for Media & Technology Programs

Granted these guidelines will be up for revision as we embrace the new standards, but IMPACT is all about best practices and worth reading—again!
